Merle - thanks for the feedback. Glad you like the site!

I assume you're still in Montana? Either way, Montana is a beautiful state - all of it...I even liked the eastern praries. But Glacier is perhaps the greatest place on earth....just my opinion of course....

Jeff, I like your sites. I (Merle) worked in Asheville doing Forest Service Storm Recovery work in 2003-2005. It was a long commute from Montana...anyway, I got to hike in the Smokeys (sp?) and figured out how they got their name!. Jack and I love to hike and I think your sites are fantastic. Keep up the good work. I will hopefully visit your area again.

Holy smokies, this is a great find. If this doesn't attest to the strength of the human spirit, I don't know what does.

I agree with you. We do not need nor want cell towers in our parks. My wife and I were just on Rocky Top after an arduous all day hike and the last thing we wanted to see was manmade structures. It was splendid being up there with nothing in site but mountains and having no cell coverage. Completely cutoff and at peace! I lived many years without cell phones just fine. Our society is becoming too dependent these days.

Not sure if I'm happy to see our parks less crowded, or if it's a shame that people are wasting one of our most valuable resources. We used to live right outside Rocky Mountain NP, and to this day I can't believe how many people (vast majority) never ventured more than a 100 yards from the car.

Great post.
