Heritage Defined

HERITAGE is the accumulated experiences of individual home and history. It is the accumulation of knowledge traveling through the years and generations to become integral parts - the essense of a ‘way of life‘, in individual, collective and national identities.

Heritage is what defines who we are: in the Past, Today and into the Future.

Outdoor Heritage is that element of our collective heritage connecting us to the natural world.

Heritagekeepers are those individuals who see the duty of achiving and preserving this infomation for generations to come… and do it.

These are the THREE KEYS of Seeing, Finding and Preserving… Heritage:

  1. HERITAGE events define people.
  2. HERITAGE is the collective understanding of people as they interact with each other.
  3. HERITAGE CORE ELEMENTS are those things which endure the passing of time and continue to present themselves in teaching and instructing opportunities.

The purpose of an Outdoor Heritagekeeper is to find, preserve and educate with the purpose of providing a viable platform for Outdoor Heritage to be learned today and available for generations yet in the future.
