I Guess Good Things Do Come with The Rain

It’s raining, it’s pouring.

But I wasn’t snoring.

I was wide awake with my camera out.

We’ve been getting hammered with rain lately and I’m actually loving it! All this rain has brought several beautiful double rainbows to the area and I was lucky enough to snap these great photos of the one across the street from my house:

I also stayed outside for hours trying to get some lightning pictures to no avail. Oh well, there’s a lot more storms coming later this week and I’m sure I’ll get a chance to try again.

Stay tuned tomorrow for my weekend trip report (for real)!

It snowed yesterday and I got some beautiful scenery of half-melted snow over the fields as I sat on a train from London to Cambridge this morning. I’m going to miss the wintry weather once summer finally decides to get here, it’s a lot more interesting! Great pics.

Wow, the lighting in those shots is amazing — warm, soft and kind of “retro.” What camera (make, model) were you using? (Asking because half of my infatuation with the outdoors comes from the photography aspect and I’m a bit of a photo-nut.)

Thanks for the compliments, I’m actually pretty new to photography but I love it!

I was just using a kodak easyshare z650. It’s nothing special but it has manual control so it’s better than a point and shoot. I bought it when I didn’t know a thing about what I wanted in a camera so it’s really hard to get shots like this with them. Actually, the shots ended up great because the sun was going down and a storm had just ended. I underexposed it a bit to get the shadowy feel. The old timey car just happened to drive by at the right time and just added to it even more.

Let me know if you want and I’ll post the EXIF data for you to see the exact settings I used.
