A Breckenridge Halloween

If you are going to be around Breckenridge during halloween, this is one show you don’t want to miss! I’ll quote the Backstage Theatre website:

Cannibal: The Musical

From the twisted minds behind “South Park” comes Cannibal! The (Alferd Packer) Musical.

Based on actual events from Colorado’s history, the story revolves around Alferd Packer who leads a group of men from Utah to Colorado Territory (their destination is Breckenridge!) in search of gold. Along the way, they have a run-in with malicious trappers, lose Packer’s beloved horse, Liane, encounter a weed-loving Indian tribe, and meet a grisly fate when they get horribly lost in the snowy Colorado mountains. Oh, and they sing and dance a lot, too. And what of the flesh eating hinted at by the title? Well, let’s just say that’s all onstage…and much, much more!

A boisterous, bloody show that only the squeamish can refuse.

Are You Fit For Breckenridge?

If you are planning a ski trip to Breck, you have hopefully started you ski or snowboard fitness training program. Aside from needing to be in shape for the hill, you will also need to get in shape to walk through the town. What am I talking about? Because of its location, the Town of Breckenridge gets pretty icy in the winter. If you balance and proprioception skills are not up to par, you might find yourself having a yard sale on the sidewalk.

The solution: Pick up a copy of Open Your Heart With Winter Fitness

Introducing Your Breckenridge Blog Goddess

I’m Lisa Marie Mercer, author of the premier winter sport conditioning book, Open Your heart with Winter Fitness.

My sport conditioning studio, Mountain Sport Pilates and Fitness

is located in Frisco.

I’m also a tour guide for the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance

This season, I will be the first two-planker to become a mentor for the Snowboard Outreach Society

But enough about me. Let’s talk about Breckenridge.  First, the important stuff. Opening day is November 9th, 2007. However, it’s been seriously snowing for the past few days, so hopefully, there will be a nice base on opening day. This year, breck is plannning a change in their on-mountain dining. In an effort to promote healthy skiers and riders, the cafeterias will be featuring hormone-free meat and poultry, as well as organic dairy products. Now there’s a thought.
